Life Wireless offers cell phone services regionally. It is a part of the US government's Lifeline phone service program which offers free cell phones as well as airtime to the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nevada, Oklahoma, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and West Virginia
Life Wireless made some new plan changes as of December 2016 this can be a little bit confusing for some people to understand so here is a summary of these changes for customers
" For all devices that are capable of using data except smartphones, the new plan comes with unlimited text, 500 minutes, and 500 MB of data. if you own a smartphone the plan is going to vary state-to-state. For those that reside in the Oklahoma tribal region, the plan will come with unlimited text, unlimited talk, and 500MB of data. if you live in the state of Kentucky then the plan comes with unlimited text, 500 minutes, and 500MB of data. if you live in Wisconsin the plan comes with unlimited text, 500 minutes, unlimited premium Wi-Fi, and 25MB of data. But those in all other states under the program you get unlimited text, 500 minutes, unlimited premium Wi-Fi, and 10MB of data. The unlimited premium Wi-Fi is powered by iPass."
Oklahoma And California Residents Get Unlimited Voice
Residents that are in Oklahoma and California will receive unlimited texting, unlimited voice calling, and 500 megabytes of data. If you live in Oklahoma you will pay a $1 monthly fee. Those that are in the Oklahoma tribal region will also get this plan but their website does not indicate that this is tribal only.
Each other state can vary so it is a good idea to visit the life Wireless website and look up the planet for your
state. In most cases, you'll get unlimited texting, 500 voice minutes, and a small amount of data which is usually
around 10MB which is not very much. Plans vary based upon the feature phone, smartphone, or state in which you are
living in. If you live in Wisconsin then you will get unlimited premium Wi-Fi. For all the other states the new plan
will come with unlimited text, 500 minutes, and unlimited dreaming Wi-Fi.
Qualifying For The Program
The following programs will help you qualify for the program if you are already receiving assistance from any of these programs
· Medicaid
· LIHEAP or Low Income Home Energy Assistance Plan
· SSI or Supplemental Security Income
· Food Stamps
· Section 8 of the Federal Public Housing Assistance or FPHA
· Senior Citizen Low-Income Discount Plan which is given by your local power company or local gas company
· TANF or Temporary Assistance For Needy Families
· If your income is at or below 135% of the guidelines for federal poverty as long as you can show proof of this. here are theFederal Poverty Guidelines
When you get your free life Wireless cell phone it comes with caller ID, free voicemail, 3-way calling, call waiting, no roaming charges, and call forwarding. For domestic long distance calls, there are no charges. You are allowed International calls but these are charged. We do not know the cost of text messaging is this is not indicated on the company website. you will probably be charged a portion of the monthly minutes for text messages. we do not know if the unused minutes are going to roll over each month. If you already have a GSM phone which is unlocked you can order a life Wireless SIM card. This SIM card can then be inserted into the handset and activated and used immediately.
